April 21st ‘Country House Larder’ – a day of Foraging, Woodland Walks and Bluebell Appreciation at Ashbrook House.
Faughan Valley Landscape Partnership and Ashbrook Estate have come together to deliver this exciting heritage event -a mixture of natural and cultural heritage with living history activities from the 1600 era.
Come along to learn more about this historic house and family that helped shape the Faughan Valley area. Meet characters from the past while you enjoy a guided tour of the house. Explore the estate with the help of expert foragers who will help you recognise food for free from the woodlands and gardens.
Try your hand at heritage skills such as basket weaving and wood turning and children can enjoy nature activities in the woods. Lastly all are invited to enjoy the sights, smells and tastes at the cookery demonstrations with chefs using foraged and home grown produce.
